SIZING THE LAMINATED LITE

MAXIMUM UNIT SIZE FOR SLOPED GLAZING WITH LAMINATED INBOARD LITE

See AAMA Table 2-7 or Monsanto Loads software program for the exact design requirements. The listed areas are the maximum allowed for various laminate compositions. The listed thickness is for laminated glass serving as the protected inboard lite of an insulated sloped glass unit. The laminated glass sized below is not exposed to external wind and snow loads.

AREA
THICKNESS OF INBOARD LAMINATED LITE

up to 12 sq. ft. = 1/4" annealed laminate inboard, .030” PVB interlayer

up to 18 sq. ft. = 3/8" annealed laminate inboard, .030” PVB interlayer

up to 24 sq. ft. = 5/16" heat-strengthened laminate inboard, .030” PVB interlayer

up to 36 sq. ft. = 7/16" heat-strengthened laminate inboard, .060” PVB interlayer

up to 40 sq. ft. = 9/16" heat-strengthened laminate (run Loads program over 40 sq. ft.), .060” PVB interlayer
